Dressed for Dim Sum or Yum Cha lunch in two of my most under appreciated and over used items.
The silk blouse is a traditionally embroidered style with little side splits (looks great untucked over trousers or jeans), there are 2 missing buttons through so much wear over the years. It’s just a wonderful wardobe staple that I picked up second hand somewhere in Covent Garden probably in the 90’s. It’s the kind of pretty sportswear rarely seen nowadays. My silk skirt is vintage Cacharel and is the most beautiful paisley pattern colours. It is basically a true red but the pattern contains, yellow, purple and turquoise. I chose to wear my Hermes Hapi bracelet to bring out the purple. I was in a neutral wilderness for years and was not confident enough to wear this more – it’s so comfortable and moves like a dream. I never planned for the shoes to tone so well with my vintage beige Chanel bag simply because I’ve never liked matching my shoes and bags but I think it helps to keep things together here.
Hot and Sour Soup for me…..x2 – oops!
Mostly fried selection.
The steamed selection. Not the best Yum Cha we’ve ever had but the ambience and hospitality more than made up for it.
“Death by Chocolate”
The hotel has a wonderful cake shop and this is just a piece of their infamous rich chocolate cake. It’s so very chocolatey, we couldn’t even finish it but I LOVE IT!
