Lace and Lunch

This is my navy lace Top Shop dress which is really one and a half dresses since I grafted the skirt from another dress to make it a more acceptable length to me. I’m not adverse to a bit of home alteration but generally dislike fiddling with clothes in any way. I can’t justify the time and the cost in this day and age where most clothes are pretty poor quality to begin with. If you’re going to spend that much time to plan it out, measure and all the other preparations let alone the actual cutting and sewing during major alterations, you might as well find a lovely piece of material and pay for made to measure – couture! Everything comes back to couture.

I was so happy and excited to meet up with two dear friends for lunch with all our 7 kids together. The kids range from 5 to 11.5 (2 boys and 5 girls) and they somehow always manage to play very well together. One of the friends is an interior designer and I really wish I could show you some of her house that she decorated on such a tiny budget but the results are amazing. She’s also a wonderful cook and hostess!

The lunch offerings on the table.

The home made Date Cake which is one of the best cakes I’ll ever taste! She just threw on some meringue sticks to decorate.

Thanks for reading!
