We managed to pack in a lot on our first full day on the coast! It started with a hearty breakfast … There were also sliced breads, a cooked English breakfast selection, cold meats, fruit and yoghurts. We, uh, tried everything! There was a bus stop right in front of the hotel and I thought it best to get dropped off as close as possible to our first destination and walk back.I wore the plimsolls thankfully as we ended up walking for hours! We ended up on the beautiful seafront promenade. The beach was pebbly but it didn’t disappoint in the least for the stunning weather and views. It was a weekday and relatively empty so we felt we had the whole place to ourselves. Ferries, Hovercraft and sailing ships filled the water. We walked the rest of the way to our destination which was the Aquarium situated right on the seafront. It was a great place! After I managed to drag my kids away from the souvenir shop, we walked back along the promenade. We were heading for a shopping centre right on the harbour and took in the scenery along the way.The city’s museum was in a beautiful building and gardens. It was very nice to sit down after 6 hours of walking! Banana Republic knit jacket, Gap 1969 linen mix pants, H&M viscose tee and plimsolls, vintage Gucci belt and Fendi leather cuff. And nice to change in the evening for more exploring. Same Gap 1969 legging jeans, thin Mango navy/white stripe jumper, Hermès gavroche, vintage Gucci belt and Sam Edelman pointy toe sling backs. Also wearing my vintage ‘fun’ earrings and a Kenneth Jay Lane cocktail ring. The jumper is a great Summer weight and I grabbed it in the sale with another in ivory just before leaving on holiday last month. When I knew we were going away for a couple days to the coast, I instantly thought of them first.Note the low tide. We returned the next morning for a different view.Coffee and cake at Cafe Nero. My kids slept like little logs after all the walking, sea air and sights 🙂By the time we left, it was cold and I was really glad I brought my old Zara quilted jacket along. Last day to follow – thanks for reading!
