Pattern Mix and Layering

KNITS3My modest attempt at pattern mixing with stripes and the Thalassa shawl. It’s not the easiest thing for me at all but I’m happy with the result. I’m also mindful of wearing my older pieces and seeing how they can be updated if possible.KNITS5I’ve always been self conscious with bright colours when I was young and even more so with ‘loud’ patterns and prints because I always felt swamped by them. I think a little confidence goes a long way in this case and the trick is to keep it to only 2 items, possibly a 3rd if it’s small or an accessory. KNITSI like wearing dresses all year round and this one is rather old by Jaeger also here. It’s a sweet little navy dress that I kept for Spring but now I’ve learnt to work it on mild Winter days layered under a light weight cotton marinière by Mango also here. KNITS2These stretch leather boots were another lucky *bay find by Sergio Rossi. I’m such a boot lover but never owned a plain and simple stretch style before. They are beyond comfortable and a beautiful buttery soft leather as you’d expect. I think they’d go with everything even under my tailored pants.

Thanks for reading!
