Spring: 5 Shades of Pale

5SHADES4From a couple of weeks ago when it was still Spring … A few old closet favourites combine with newer putty colour booties by Sam Edelman. Burberry trench feels very easy layered over a simple Gap slouchy rayon tee. The Hermès Lindy in Gris Tourterelle Clemence leather was an extremely lucky find 3 years ago. Continue reading

‘La’ Brique and Safari Green

LABRIQUEKHAKIGREEN2Keeping it real by including my wheely bin in the shots! I’ve been working some more in the garden timing it in between the downpours. Today is glorious and we can fully enjoy the delights of a tidy garden. This is an old safari dress by Oasis, another High Street treasure that comes out every Summer. Continue reading

Denim Skirt and Chambray Shirt

DENIMCHAMBRARY Introducing my second denim skirt, my only other one is a dark denim pencil style with a front pleat that I don’t wear often. This one looks like I’ve had it forever complete with frayed hem and I’m sorry to say it didn’t come from a charity shop – not for lack of looking over the years, believe me! Continue reading

Closet Basics: Cream and Navy

SLKBLSENAVY2I’m subtitling this post,When I Realise the Need for a Casual Navy Bag‘. Yes, I do like black with navy but for a lovely Spring day last week, black seems a tad heavy. Mine consists of cream silk georgette Jaeger blouse (it has rows of ruffles on the shoulders), Zara navy pants, Banana Republic beige cardigan jacket, vintage Céline navy belt (this is such a well used treasure, I couldn’t do without it!), Via Spiga white leather slippers and vintage Céline hobo bag in black leather. Shift Dress: Colourblock

COLOURBLOCKThe shift is such a useful and easy to wear style for me. This one is from a couple of years ago now by Vila and I took it on holiday with me where it ended up in a helicopter ride 🙂 I never wore it with heels though and these studded ones are recent by Sam Edelman. When I bought the dress, there were mostly fit and flare skater styles and the fitted sheath shapes available. Since then I’ve found that variations of the shift is my simplest and most flattering option also here. Continue reading
