I love lace and find it almost impossible to resist. What’s that in my left hand? It’s a hedgehog finger puppet my young photographer insisted MUST be in the photo….. Thanks for reading!
The last day of August! This dress feels so very luxurious! The lining is also silk so it moves wonderfully. I wear it for a special dinner or cocktails. It’s a classic and the unusual print makes it special for me. The actual colour is closest to the top part but the flash drained the colour of the skirt part in this photo. The little clutch purse was a freebie from Lancome years ago – lol -and it was languishing at the bottom of a drawer. It has a built in mirror in the flap and is the perfect size just for lipstick, tissues, cards, keys and phone. I would never use a real evening clutch enough. Thanks for reading!
One of the best things is when I find great pieces on the high street during the sales. I may not be able to wear them straight away but they usually end up being some of my favourites. This off white dress is such a piece. I still have to take it up a little at the shoulders as per usual but the rest fits very well.
The tiles in the bathroom is amazing!
The lime cardigan is from Zara Girls and has tiny gold buttons. The Manolo Blahnik gladiator Summer heels are such a beloved part of my closet, I can’t bear to think about when they start to wear out.
It’s a very flattering 60’s style cut and you can see here where I need to take up the shoulders to smooth out the fit of the top of half of the dress.
I bought this linen shirt dress in the White Company sale a few years ago and it’s been one of the best investment pieces (also in navy here) for Summer and holidays. I updated it with my favourite brights – Chartreuse yellow belt and my vintage orange Celine shoulder bag. Does it look like I have a tan already within hours of touch down? I reckon I could go for World’s Fastest Tanner record!
My Tween girl wearing a stripe jersey dress and a purple cardigan. She was a little concerned about how short the dress is – did I pass on my own neurosis about this? But I told her it’s hot and she has beautiful legs so it’s OK!
I’ve had this silk dress bought on the high street (Phase Eight) for at least 5 years – well not this exact dress, it was a different size. I wore it a lot because at the time, the fit and flare style with little cap sleeves disguised the worst of post children roundness. When it no longer fit I trawled *bay and found the size to fit me again. I did the same thing for another favourite dress so my luck is all used up!
The last day of my breakaway – sob! I scored this silk dress in the sale last year and really looked forward to wearing it. It’s got everything I love: vintage 40’s style, sleeves, a rich colour and nice print, it’s silk and the length is right! See, this is another occasion for a little navy shrug or cardi I’m missing…
